| Where Peace and Contentment is living with the Alpacas.... |
| On a rainy day while camping in Maine, and looking for something to do, we came across an Alpaca Farm and decided to take a look. We had previously heard of Alpacas, but had never really had the opportunity to see one up close and personal. We were instantly intrigued with the "Alpaca", and very curious about them as they were with us. This "look" had us going to another farm about an hour away within the same day. I honestly believe this is about the time we were "Hooked", but we hadn't realized it at this point. After arriving home from vacation, the research began. Sending away for materials, going through website after website, visiting local farms, talking to everyone and anyone that would spend the time answering our questions, (which they all enjoyed doing...Thank You). After both of us having careers in Law Enforcement, and looking towards what to do in our "Retirement Years", we decided to take get our feet wet and plunge into the "Alpaca Lifestyle". The Peace and Contentment of living with the Alpacas is something we were both looking for in our lives. This was a journey that Tammi and I never expected to partake in, but we are certainly glad that we did! So in 2009, "My Poppy's Alpacas, LLC" was criated! and we never looked back...... :) |
